Learn to disable Win 8 Lock screen using Group Policy

Windows 8 lock screen is a full-screen image that appears when you boot your PC, lock it (WINKEY + L), or resume from sleep.It also contains certain updates like Date,Time ,Unread Mail count etc.

Some people like it whereas othwer despise it and see it as another barrier (apart from password screen) for logging into windows .

This little trick will tell you how to disable the lock screen using Group Policy.

Step 1: Press windows key + R to bring up the Run window.

Step 2 : Type "gpedit.msc" (Without quotes) and hit "Enter" (Or Click on OK )

Step 3 : In the Group Policy Editor , go to the path as show n below .

Step 4 : Double Click on "Do not display the lock screen " option , and select  "enabled"

The next time you boot your PC, lock it (WINKEY + L), or resume from sleep you will be directly taken to the authentication screen .
